...as a blogger. I recall myself mentioning that since the holidays are here (and almost ending now!) I will blog more often because I have more spare and useless time on my hands. Hell, I haven't blogged in over a month ! In other news, it's never too late to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I finally decided that the random chunks of brownish blondish in my hair was annoying the hell out of me and after MUCH contemplating I went to the hairdressers to dye it last week. In more 'family oriented' discovery, we recently purchased a new television and washing machine. The washing machine only has one star for it's energy rating and two and a half stars for it's water rating. I know. My family is horrible in terms of saving the world. Ironically, we are a fan of Life's Good (LG) since we have their TV, DVD player, Laptop, Washing Machine etc. Come back to me in 20 years and I will definitely tell you L to the G - Life's Gay with you know, the global warming issues and such (stats : 71.2% of the greenhouse emissions originate from the Liu family) Just a short update but I'll definitely blog before school starts Labels: family, holiday, Miscellaneous, random Sunday, November 2, 2008
So, I haven't blogged in over half a month. I realise that once I get into the blogging hype, I blog frequently and then it dies again and the cycle of blogging for Selina starts again. Ah well. SC is just around the corner and I have not studied one bit, instead I spend my time procrastinating and when I become desperate because I've completed all my usual procrastinating doings, I try to sing to every single song that's in my Itunes library. I'm absolutely positive that my neighbours aren't happy chappy. I don't know whether I should be happy because I thought of a new way to procrastinate or scared because procrastination has rose a whole new level. Anyways, the topic of this entry is about this article I stumbled upon while searching for "shoes" on Google. I know right, I'm not really specific. Anyways here's what it says: Khadisha says she is too embarrassed to wear peep-hole shoes because her second and third toes are bigger than her big toe. Khadisha is paying thousands of pounds for surgeons to slice segments off her toes so her shoes are shown off to their best advantage. “I know it sounds extreme - and the operation does scare me a little … but for me, it really is a price worth paying for pretty feet,” Khadisha is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. Vanity at it's max? Really, that is one of the vainest, stupidest, craziest, ironic thing I've ever heard. Why ironic? Oh, it's cause you cannot wear heels for 6 months until the healing process is over. Compared to Micheal Jackson's well known surgery, this feels more extreme. At least he did his whole body and everyone can notice a definite differentiation after it (although I do not take an account on what happened to his career and life) but really, just for shoes? Wait, erase that, I'm sure many people notice other people's toes: Person 1: "Oh my! What lovely toes you've got there!" Person 2: "Thank you, although I did fix it up a bit, it's a price worth paying for because when I turn 85, everyone will just admire my feet" Person 1: "I'm so jealous, your second and third toes are smaller than your first, it's such a turn on" Person 2: "Sure is, actually your toes aren't that bad, your third toe just looks a bit crooked, how about doing surgery? Trust me, nicer toes will benefit your whole future" Person 1: "Perfect idea!" I'm not in Khadisha's position so I really shouldn't be saying anything but surgery on your toes? And everyone disses foot binding, look what our whole world has turned into now! Crazy humans. Original article here Labels: random, rantings, trauma Wednesday, July 9, 2008
Just when I was getting the hang of Haloscan's commenting system, it has decided to evaporate from the third planet from the sun called Earth. What is this? I'm very frustrated because it was cool to edit comments in that way! I Anyways, as my blog title suggests, what can you buy for five cents? Because we're living in such a materialistic world and as of 2008, there are rarely anything that you can purchase with 5 cents right? Sure, maybe a couple of years ago, one lolly was five cent or one toothpick was five cents. But now, when we see 5 cents, can we even be bothered straining our back to pick up that worthless five cent? And as shops go, almost all items are $19.95 or $21.95 or 95c etc no? Which, we usually round up and think nothing of that 5 cents because hey, it's only five cents ! Well I am here to tell you in 2008, you can actually buy something for $0.05AUS!!! Exciting news? Cling's electrical tape is only 5c from k-mart! Don't believe me? Go see for yourself! Btw guys, count how many times I've said '5 cents' in that last paragraph. Eesh, countless. Okay, let's get off that really random topic. I just got really excited when I found something that cost (again) 5 cents! The other day, we went to Tomodachi for one of my favourite past times aka eating. There was only three of us so we didn't order that much but still, I adore the food there! And for dinner that night...we had prawns, tuna, salmon and crab. A mighty seafood feast right there! My food scraps haha. It's taller than Mt Fuji! Yes, I did eat all that, Yes I realise I eat too much, Yes I just tortured you, giving you all those heavenly photos and I just had to kill it by ending the post with crab shells, prawn shells and what not. I know you love me. Wednesday, July 2, 2008
My brother passed the selective. Even though it's only into Sefton High, my mum is jumping with joy. It doesn't matter that it isn't fully selective because it's 'close to our house' and my brother has always wanted to get into that school. I'm really happy for him, really, but it's not the most pleasant feeling when your younger brother passed and as a older sister you didn't. Yikes. But nevertheless, this achievement has made mum extremely happy = more money to give out Winter + Holidays = Get fat season. (shown by eating cookies & cream ice cream at 12 o'clock at night The other night we went to La Piazza and omg, there was this guy working at the coffee section and he looked exactly like Lee Jun Ki except younger and had bigger eyes Yes I do realise there's a piece missing Japan is well known for it's quirky fashion right? It's not quirky unless you've seen this... I can see why Japan is so famous now, with designers like those, there is no reasons why it shouldn't be famous. How do you even wear those anyway? Let alone walk in them! Or are they only shoes for decorations and just you wear them and don't walk anywhere? A short entry but I will be back hopefully by the end of the week, signing off! Just in case..I haven't stopped blogging. Just had a short hiatus but I'm back for good now :D This week has flew by so fast. It's the end of week 7 already. 2 more weeks till I'm free from exams, assignment, homework and basically school. Unless teachers decide to become more of a ho and give us homework and assignment(s) over the holiday period - I know I have a Science one that is due next term and since I'm doing plants I need to start..now. Hmm maybe later. I haven't been in the 'brightest' mood today. I lost my pencil case. ='( I know your probably thinking "what is this psychopath on about?" Well...this pencil case was pink with lots of pink Smiggle stationary okay? And it didn't help that I didn't look at it for 2 minutes and as soon as I turned around it was gone! I understand if someone stole a phone, mp3 or wallet. Wait no I don't understand. But like, there most be some serious disorder with whoever who has been stealing all these items over this term. There is thieve(s) in our school. And now, they can't even resist taking a pencil case without permission aka stealing? What's next oh, I know, let's steal some earrings from that girl. Grrr....I'm watching out thieve(s) so be afraid..be very afraid...MWAHAHAH. Oh it doesn't help that I've also lost my glasses case this week as well. >=( And to add up to the hurt, I'm capped. Tripple >=( Also I did my English Assessment and although I finished (barely) I believe I did shitty. After school I called up Telstra because mum told me to cause we recently changed to it. This is how the conversation went: "Hello, this is Abdud speaking, how may I help you?" "Oh, well we recently changed to Telstra and you appointed someone to change our phone thing but then we weren't home so you guy didn't do it, can we book another appointment? And also, people have been trying to call in and somehow it's not working?" "Well your previous company was Optus right? Call them and complain" "But we're with your company now -" "No, you need to call them first" "But we're with Telstra...this doesn't involve Optus" "Yes it does, call them okay" "You have really bad service" "This is not about service, it's about how I'm trying to 'help' you. Just call Optus okay, okay bye" *He hangs phone* As if you don't know already, Telstra has super bad service and I, Selina Liu will swear by God, Allah and Buddha that I will never ever join Telstra. On another note, I barely have homework this weekend = end of financial year sales = shopping spree = happiness = better skin. A bit exaggerated link but well, it applies to me :) I finally ordered my sunscreen from sasa.com last week so it'll come around the next two weeks. I'm pschyed about that, I've been waiting for this sunscreen to be in stock for so long and I've finally laid my hands on it, technically my mouse but still the same, no? This has been a useless entry once again with no pictures to top it off. Again. Blame the net! Blame the net for too much free downloading. Blame the downloads. Blame my self control! No, scratch that. But I will spam my next entry with lots of photos because we have the athletics carnival coming up :D Um, McCormack, let's win this year yeah? My support for my house has been accomplished *insert witty retarded grin here because I don't know how the emoticon is supposed to look like* P.S. Theresa, I know how you feel when you lost your Ipod now, because the worth of a pencil case is identical to the worth of an Ipod. P.P.S. Many people in our school has cut their hair like mine now. Bangs. And I have mixed feelings about it. I don't know whether I should be happy because 'I'm so influencing' - Samantha Lloyd or 'I'm not original because so many people have this haircut at school now' - words of um, I'll get back to you on that. But for now, it's okay :) P.P.P.S. And if you guys haven't noticed Sam doesn't blog anymore. Knew this was gonna happen one day! So I'll shall update everything when I'm uncapped and links can just be changed to selina instead of samsel if you wish. P.P.P.P.S. Post post post post script sounds retarded. Decided just to do a quick post. School has seriously been taking over my life. The junk load of exams kills me. I've really barely started studying and I (think) I'll be busy this whole weekend cause relo's are over. UGH. And I've heard that the Science classes are changing depending on this half yearly exam and/or if you want to do science next year? Please tell me that's not true...I have no confidence in my half yearlies whatsoever. I also hate the fact that it's supposed to be an assessment free week due to exams next week and we got an assignment this week with the first part due two days after it! Yes, even though it was just an hypothesis and we were in groups but still! KDJFKD First fight/argument in our group this year. I still remember last year's massive fight between Kim and Theresa over Kim's yoghurt. LOLOL. This argument is so stupid..I'm serious, we're like fighting over..man I don't even know what we're fighting/arguing about, it just ends up with like all the asians in year 10 asking me and jlam what is going on and why we did this and such....Girl schools are so annoying I tell you. It's freezing these days.......I love it. I adore this weather. I prefer winter over summer anyday! Even though it's hard to wake up in the morning but like, at least you can make yourself warm in winter whereas in summer you have to practically strip to make yourself cooler --> reminds me of Wonder Girls So Hot MV. The other day my auntie dragged me out and gave me a lecture on how choosing universities and courses was not about what you wanna become. It's what type of husband you want. Load of bull. I need to shop. So so badly. I also feel like going to the cinema...I don't think I've been since last year! WOAHH WHAT? Let me rephrase. I haven't been to the Australian cinemas since last year. Really feel like watching a horror movie of some sort soon. ![]() ![]() This looks interesting no? These type of zombies/vampires always seems to remind me of Micheal Jackson's classic Thriller. ![]() "I didn't touch her! I swear! She's a girl!" I don't understand why people are still getting plastic surgery after the whole world knowing what happened to MJ's face now. erkk. Labels: Miscellaneous, random, school events Monday, May 5, 2008
I shouldn't be here. Typing. I should be completing my IST assignment and making a move on my Science Assignment. I should also be cramming in 4 months worth of work from over half my subjects. And what am I doing now? Oh just blogging. Yeah, good job Sel. Several days ago (more like Monday) we went on a Commerce Excursion to the Police Museum and NSW Parliament House. May sound like a bore already which was my initial thought as well but the excursion actually was interesting (many role plays and watching Mary. N doing a speech and acting as a minister of ___ was exciting stuff) and I learnt many things. No, the school is not paying me to write this. HAHA. For Lunch the asians (exclude Kim) of course decided and sushi and the non other Easyway while the rest of the class choosed Maccas. At least some of us are actually 'healthy' in the class. I also charged my camera and everything the night before, ready to use the next day...and would you guess it, I left my battery on the charger therefore there are no photos from the 'exciting' trip --> no sarcasm intended here trip. Can't really remember what happened so I shall spam the rest of the post with (food) photos. Chocolate fountain...Lucy better be reading this & LOL at the blurry person in the background. I think this blog's aim is to feed my addiction of food photos and food in general. Ahh..isn't it satisfying to look at those photos and drool over them? Happy Birthday JLAM. Your officially half way to 30 and a quarter to 60. Have a birthday cake :D On side note, all these photos are claimed as mine, I couldn't be bothered photoshopping them so yeah *insert copyright stuff here 2008*. If you want them (to also feed your obession over photos and food) then ask me for them, but no one reads this blog so yeah :) I'll end it off here, cheers! Labels: excursions, random, school events
